2-5 June 2026
The Net-Zero Industries Mission (NIM) participated in the Mission Innovation Annual Gathering 2026 in Brussels, bringing together global stakeholders from governments, research, and industry to accelerate clean energy innovation and industrial decarbonisation.
A key milestone for the Mission was the launch of the NIM Global Research Network, aimed at strengthening collaboration across research and innovation communities and supporting the development and deployment of scalable net-zero industrial solutions worldwide.
Throughout the three-day event, NIM engaged in a series of productive bilateral exchanges with partner countries, further reinforcing international cooperation and identifying new opportunities for joint action. Discussions covered a wide range of topics related to industrial decarbonisation, technology deployment, and innovation ecosystems.
The Mission also participated in cross-mission exchanges with the Urban Transitions Mission, the Integrated Biorefineries Mission, the Clean Hydrogen Mission, and the Green Powered Future Mission, underlining the importance of system integration and coordinated efforts across sectors.
In addition, the gathering provided an opportunity to advance collaboration with international partners, including Canada, Finland, India, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to accelerating the transition from innovation to implementation and scaling up net-zero solutions for energy-intensive industries. NIM looks forward to continuing this momentum in the lead-up to CEM17 / MI11 and further strengthening global cooperation for industrial decarbonisation.
